Investigation of the influence of incremental sheet forming process parameters using response surface methodology

New methods in metal forming are rapidly developing and several processes used to optimize manufacturing components reduce cost production. Single Point Incremental Forming (SPIF) is a sheet process for rapid prototyping applications small batch This work dedicated the investigation of profile geometry thickness evolution truncated pyramid. The influence parameters during SPIF also studied. A numerical response surface methodology with Design Experiments (DOE) improve reduction effects springback. set 16 tests performed by varying four parameters: tool diameter, angle, thickness, path. Gurson-Tvergaard-Needleman (GTN) damage model analyze material deformation. It found that can effectively predict geometrical an error less than 4%. Furthermore, it noticed angle most influential parameter on springback level. Finally, demonstrated be sensitive angle.
